Project Description

Perini Management Services led the design and construction of 10 new duplex housing units (twenty 3-bedroom apartments) on the isolated island of Kodiak in the Aleutian chain. The homes were designed and built to withstand harsh weather conditions marked by relatively long and cold winters and heavy precipitation year round. The buildings feature an efficient building envelope, and energy saving electrical and mechanical systems and appliances that take advantage of the Kodiak power grid and renewable hydro and wind energy. The scope included excavation and disposal of contaminated soils, utilities, street replacement, curbs, sidewalks and driveway access ramps.
