In support of U.S. military operations in Iraq, Perini Management Services led the design and construction of one 5,000-barrel and eight 10,000-barrel aboveground fuel storage tanks. The tanks were constructed to contain three different types of fuels; JP-8, DF-2, and MOGAS. The project was located in a remote area of Northern Iraq, resulting in logistical challenges for procurement and delivery. Associated infrastructure included containment dikes, aggregate roadways, concrete truck loading/unloading stands, blast walls, security fencing and miscellaneous elements, such as stairs.
