Tutor Perini Announces Bid Results and New Contracts Totaling $327 Million

Tutor Perini Corporation (NYSE: TPC), a leading civil and building construction company, today announced that is has received new contracts and task orders totaling $327 million, which include work ranging from an infrastructure project in New York to construction projects worldwide for the U.S. State Department and a new aircraft parking apron at Andersen Air Force Base in Guam.
Long Island Railroad / Metropolitan Transit Authority Capital Construction Project
Tutor Perini expects to be awarded the contract in the amount of $147 million for the Long Island Railroad (LIRR) Plaza substation and structures project in Queens, NY. The project, for which the Metropolitan Transit Authority Capital Construction (MTACC) is acting as owner and management party, is expected to take three years to complete. A final award by the MTACC is expected to occur in 90 days.
Work on the LIRR/MTACC project will include construction of the below-grade facilities at the Plaza Interlocking, including installation of waterproofing systems, removal of temporary struts and walers and other temporary support measures within the open cut excavation constructed by other parties.
U.S. Department of State IDIQ Contract
Tutor Perini's subsidiary, Perini Management Services, Inc. (PMSI), has been awarded its first task order under an Indefinite Delivery / Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract for design, construction, supply and/or installation of pre-fabricated and engineered containerized housing and office units with integrated building systems and complete site infrastructure. The base contract, awarded in January 2011 by the U.S. Department of State (DOS), is for support of U.S. diplomatic missions worldwide and U.S. operations in support of contingency, humanitarian and emergency relief operations on a global basis.
Under the base IDIQ contract, PMSI is eligible to submit competitive proposals for each potential project. This is PMSI's first task order awarded for fast-track construction of facilities in southern Iraq. The $107 million project will provide design, renovation, installation and construction of facilities for a Consulate General. The work is scheduled to be complete by February 2012.
PMSI's Team for the base contract includes Tetra Tech of Pasadena, CA for architect/engineering services, and containerized housing unit manufacturers, including Red Sea Housing as our primary supplier.
Aircraft Parking Apron at Andersen Air Force Base, Guam
Tutor Perini, working with its subsidiary Black Construction Corporation, has been awarded a $73 million firm-fixed-price task order by the Naval Facilities Engineering Command Marianas for construction of an aircraft parking apron at Andersen Air Force Base in Guam.
The project, expected to be completed by July 2013, includes construction of an MV-22 aircraft concrete parking apron, hot mix asphalt apron replacement pavement, aircraft rinse facility, aircraft wash-rack facility, three direct fueling stations and a tow-way with a retaining wall.
